Alexey And’s Biography

(real name – Alexey Dmitriyevich Andreyev)

And is a Ukrainian artist who had first used the notion of ‘associative symbolism’ in the context of contemporary painting. According to the evaluation by the experts of 4th and 5th International festivals (Kiev), he is included into the number of 20 best painters of Ukraine. In 1996 And became a leader of the first L1 auction of contemporary Ukrainian arts (National Art Museum of Ukraine, Kiev).

In Russian ‘United Artists Rating’ (issue XVII, 2010), And is listed under the category 5B – a formed professional artist.

And lives and works in Kiev.

Born January 9th, 1962, in Kiev, Ukraine
1980 – Graduated from the Republican Art High School, Kiev
1988 – Graduated from Kiev State Art Institute (currently Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture), painting department.
Studied painting under teachers: V.A.Chekanyuk, N.A.Storozhenko, A.Kozhekov.
Member of Ukraine National Union of Artists since 1994.
